GRIP on LIFE
In the Grip on Life IP project, government agencies, forest owner associations and stakeholder organisations have worked together to combine active forestry with consideration for the forest’s valuable streams and wetlands.
Grip on Life – led by the Swedish Forest Agency – has been tasked with developing and disseminating new knowledge and methods. The objective has been to improve the environment and conditions for animals and plants living in watercourses and wetlands in forest landscapes, while continuing to use our natural resources in a sustainable way.
By contributing new knowledge and practical approaches, the project has supported efforts to secure the future of streams, rivers, lake systems and wetlands throughout the country.
The project began in 2018 and its activities were completed in 2025.
