The Latest statistics from the Swedish Forest Agency show that the area notified for felling in June and July decreased, compared to the corresponding months in 2023. In June, the decrease was 18 percent and in July it was 2 percent. The area regarding applications for permits for final felling in montane forests in June was less than a fifth compared to June last year. In July, however, the was an increase by 9 percent compared with the previous year.
On 30 June, wood stocks amounted to 7.9 million cubic metres, according to the Swedish Forest Agency's survey. This is the same low level as last summer.
