Our statistical areas are forestry production, employment in forestry, forestry structure, forestry economics, price developments in forestry, and forest management and utilization for economic, social and environmental purposes.

News

Area of approved regeneration unchanged in 2024

Statistics from the Swedish Forest Agency show that 81 percent of the annual harvested forest area has been regenerated to the levels stipulated by the regulations as of 2021 in the Forestry Act. This year’s survey remains at roughly the same level as last year’s which was the lowest approval figure for ten years. To facilitate comparability over time in the statistics the results from the Swedish Forest Agency’s survey of regeneration quality are presented according to both the new and old regulations.
Decreased area of notified fellings in October

October saw a decrease in the area notified or applied for felling in October of 4 percent, compared to 2024. The area regarding applications for permits for felling in montane forests decreased 44 percent, compared to the same month last year.
Decline in pulpwood stocks

Nyhet | Statistik - 11 November 2025

Stocks of pulpwood have decreased compared with the previous levels at the end of the previous quarter, according to the Swedish Forest Agency’s stock survey. Stocks of coniferous sawlogs and pulp chips remains at approximately the same level.
