Stock of pulpwood increased with 15 percent

Stock volumes of pulpwood is estimated to amount 3.9 million cubic metre as at September 30, 2018. It is 15 percent more when compared to the same period as last year. At the same time, the stock volumes of coniferous sawlogs amounted to 2.4 million cubic metre, which was 5 percent more than last year.

As per assortment pulpwood stocks was: 2.5 million cubic metre of mixed coniferous, 0.5 million cubic metre of spruce and 0.8 million cubic metre of broadleaved species.

The stock volumes of pulpwood chips is estimated to have amounted to 0.7 million cubic metre, which is 6 percent more than the same time last year.

The total stocks of coniferous sawlogs, pulpwood and pulpwood chips were estimated to 7 million cubic metre as at 30 September 2018. This is 11 percent more than the same time in 2017.

Regional differences between north and south.

The stock of coniferous sawlogs was smaller this year in region 1 and 2 but higher in region 3 and 4. The stock of pulpwood were much larger this year in region 1. In region 2 och 3 there were a small increase in the stock of pulpwood and in region 4 the stock of pulpwood decreased.

Wood balance region 3: Västra Götalands- (excl. Ale, Lerum, Vårgårda, Bollebygd, Tranemo, Lilla Edet, Mark, Svenljunga, Herrljunga, Vänersborg, Trollhättan, Alingsås, Borås och Ulricehamn municipality), Värmlands- and Örebro county and Habo och Mullsjö municipality.

Wood balance region 4: Södermanlands-, Östergötlands-, Jönköpings- (excl. Habo och Mullsjö municipality), Kronobergs-, Kalmars-, Blekinge, Skånes- and Hallands county and the municipalities Ale, Lerum, Vårgårda, Bollebygd, Tranemo, Lilla Edet, Mark, Svenljunga, Herrljunga, Vänersborg, Trollhättan, Alingsås Borås and Ulricehamn.
