The storm Per

The 2007 January storm named Per was not as big as Gudrun in 2005, however, much damage was done this time too. Citizens of the Götaland region gazed out upon a changed landscape. They were astonished or alarmed, depending on their relationship to the forest, the foresty and the need of income thereof. Both areas left undamaged by Gudrun, e.g. the surrroundings of Mariestad and areas already severly demaged, e.g. Ljungby, was struck hard by Per.

On the following day, all available resources were gathered in preparation of a massive response to Per. Estimates showed that about 75 million cubic metres were damaged by Gudrun, whilst Per damaged about 12 million cubic metres, unfortunately over a larger area.
