What is a statistical authority?

The Swedish Forest Agency is the statistical authority responsible for official statistics on forest production, employment and environment and social values in Sweden. An important part of this responsibility is to ensure that statistics are collected, processed and kept up to date in a manner best suited to users’ needs.

The total stock volume of coniferous sawlogs, pulpwood and chips at the end of 31st December 2009 amounted to 7.1 million m³ f ub (cubic metre solid volume excl. bark), which is a decrease by 50 % compared to 2008.
