Storm & Forest Management
Forest management and storm should go hand in hand at all times. The STORMRISK project is providing tools to help management decision making.
Homogene planted forests with high volume of growing stock are sensitive to wind damage. Since this is a common sight in todays forest it is necessary to implement storm as a factor in planning and management. In sensitive areas or stands this could mean that one needs to reconsider choice of methods and species.
