In 2011, totally 433 areas have been formed with the help of two protective instruments, 215 areas of habitat protection and 218 areas of nature conservation agreement. 937 hectares of habitat protection and 1250 hectares of nature conservation agreements have been established.
Swedish Forest Agency has during 2011 approved state compensation for habitat protection for 119 million SEK and 307 million SEK for nature conservation agreements. The amounts represent the state compensation paid to landowners.
